Indicators: Safe and Nurturing Families- Working to ensure community/neighborhood safety for families to raise their children where families need for support and protection is a priority.
- Healthy and safe home environments free from abuse, neglect and serious unintentional injuries
- Improved parental/caregiver skills in their role as nurturers of their children focusing on building parental/caregiver resiliency, sharing information and tools that support the emotional /social development of children.
- Increased awareness of parent/caregiver’s needs in times of need: Providing access to resources and services, opportunities for social connectedness within the community.
School Readiness- Enhanced parental/caregiver ability to connect with their young children by emphasizing the importance of primary relationships in the social and emotional development of children in the early years: attending to the cognitive development of young children through the provision of stimulating child centered, play based environments.
- Increased parental/ caregiver understanding of and responsiveness to the social/emotional/physical developmental needs of young children.
- Enhanced ability of community child care whether it be in home care or center based care to provide for warm caring relationships for young children based on an awareness of the importance of the social/emotional and cultural development of children as well as attending to the cognitive development of children through childcentered, play based environments.
- Increased parental/caregiver understanding of the importance of finding quality care for their children while they work by the sharing of community resources and educational information
- Enhanced opportunities for young children to be ready to transition into kindergarten and continue a successful relationships with teachers, the basis for a love of life long learning.
- Increased parental/caregiver understanding of the school system and their role in supporting, navigating and advocating within it.
- Increased connection with and support for administrators and teachers to be ready for young children through a deep understanding of the interplay between the child’s social emotional and cultural development and their ability to learn.
